چکیده

Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN) models have achieved unprecedented performance on various image understanding tasks. However, these models are still susceptible to several disturbances that affect perception in real-world environments including lighting changes, glare and ambient noise. In addition, training of DCNNs require a large amount of annotated data which is difficult to acquire for specialized robotic applications. In this paper, we describe two of our systems that overcome some of these limitations by learning end-to-end hierarchical noise-robust features. First, we give an overview of our multispectral DCNN fusion architecture that enables the network to learn features from multiple modalities and spectra for dense semantic segmentation of forested environments. Secondly, we describe our proprioceptive spatiotemporal model for terrain classification from acoustic vehicle terrain interaction signals. Both of our approaches achieve state-of-the-art performance on extensive realworld data compared to existing techniques. Moreover, our networks perform inference in real-time enabling quick decision making, critical for operating in such environments.

Dual Receptor Recognizing Cell Penetrating Peptide for Selective Targeting, Efficient Intratumoral Diffusion and Synthesized Anti-Glioma Therapy

Cell penetrating peptides (CPPs) were widely used for drug delivery to tumor. However, the nonselective in vivo penetration greatly limited the application of CPPs-mediated drug delivery systems. And the treatment of malignant tumors is usually followed by poor prognosis and relapse due to the existence of extravascular core regions of tumor. Thus it is important to endue selective targeting an...

Genomic and Metagenomic Analysis of Diversity-Generating Retroelements Associated with Treponema denticola

Diversity-generating retroelements (DGRs) are genetic cassettes that can produce massive protein sequence variation in prokaryotes. Presumably DGRs confer selective advantages to their hosts (bacteria or viruses) by generating variants of target genes-typically resulting in target proteins with altered ligand-binding specificity-through a specialized error-prone reverse transcription process. T...

Enhanced and Efficient Isar Image Focusing Using the Discrete Gabor Representation in an Oversampling Scheme

Inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging is one of the most well-known techniques of radar target recognition. One of the most important issues in ISAR imaging is the improvement of the image smeared by a moving target. In this paper, we propose the discrete Gabor representation (DGR) in an oversampling scheme as an effective means of obtaining a well-focused ISAR image with a short calc...

Luminosity Distributions within Rich Clusters - III: A comparative study of seven Abell/ACO clusters

We recover the luminosity distributions over a wide range of absolute magnitude (−24.5 < MR < −16.5) for a sample of seven rich southern galaxy clusters. We find a large variation in the ratio of dwarf to giant galaxies, DGR: 0.8 ≤ DGR ≤ 3.1. This variation is shown to be inconsistent with a ubiquitous cluster luminosity function. The DGR shows a smaller variation from cluster to cluster in the...

Duodenogastric Reflux after Biliary Procedure

Duodenogastric reflux (DGR) is a poorly understood gastrointestinal process that is defined as reflux of duodenal contents into the stomach. Therapeutic biliary procedures disrupt the function of the sphincter of Oddi. Patients are potential “bile refluxers”. Methods: The present study was carried out to document the incidence and evaluate the clinical significance of DGR after cholecystectomy ...

Identification of Diversity-Generating Retroelements in Human Microbiomes

Diversity-generating retroelements (DGRs) are a unique family of retroelements that confer selective advantages to their hosts by accelerating the evolution of target genes through a specialized, error-prone, reverse transcription process. First identified in a Bordetella phage (BPP-1), which mediates the phage tropism specificity by generating variability in an involved gene, DGRs were predict...
